Well I thought the randomness would be best - the general story would be
that I had a tattoo that meant everything to me, and I woke up one day with
it scribbled out, and I'm on a quest to find out why and who did it, and
also I have no clues and this happened 10 years ago.

The problem is working with what's already there. Also I don't really want to put out a ton of money for something I basically hate, so this plan should help w/that, right?
