Here on the day of the Super Bowl, I think it’s really important to contribute to your community in some way.

For example, this morning at the self-checkout of the grocery store, I asked the girl manning the central hub if she could call out each item to me, exactly as it read on her screen, as I scanned it.

She was very sharp, and even included the quantity of each item, which in every case, was “one”.

As my debit card processed, I jumped over to her and asked that she kinda do a sing-songy/joyful, “HERE COMES YOUR RECEIPT!” as my receipt was ejected.

I was amused, she was amused, and everything else didn’t know what to think.

As I left, I asked that she do this for several random people throughout the day. Whether she does or not, she’ll surely be thinking about it, and thus, on those particular transactions, joy will spill forth in her mind.

How did you contribute to your community this morning?

(btw Shaq is a liar and Cavs by 19 today v the Lasers.)

By the way, you were the inspiration for my Super Bowl story. I followed your advice.

Cool – I don't remember what that was exactly, but usually when people follow my advice, something good or bad happens.
