My Apple is Broken, and Also I Got Married

1) My Mac is down for the count, which means I have a hot date with the Apple Store this afternoon. If they can’t immediately fix it, I’ll be like, “Oh man! C’mon, try again.”

2) This non-Mac-having is severely crippling, and pretty much couldn’t come at a worse time, considering the WSM? site is supposed to open tomorrow, and the first teaser is out next Tuesday.

3) I like to talk about my computer problems in a public forum, so that other people will have sympathy, and then like they will tell all their friends about how strong I am in the face of the ultimate adversity.

3a) I bought a houseboat over the weekend, and now I live on it with my hot new wife, who I just met. She was the one selling the houseboat, and I was like, “Hey, do you come with the houseboat – ” and then she was like, “Yes,” and then I was like, “Man, that seems like a weird deal – do all of the houseboats at this water vehicle store come with hot girls to marry – ” and she was like, “Yes.”

4)If you look in the sidebar there, you’ll notice I’ve written a new (free) book, and also provided a backdoor into the the WSM? site.

5) If this first technology crisis wasn’t bad enough, I was in the local T-Mobile Action Center over the weekend, and found out I’m not actually a free agent until JUNE. (I thought it was November.)

What’s the worst adversity you’ve ever faced, and on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being “toughest”) how tough were you in the face of the adversity from the first part of the sentence.

Also, do you think if they renamed them T-Mobile Action Centers, that more people would switch to T-Mobile, and why or why not.

    I already told you this on Twitter, but the reason your Mac broke is because it rebelled like a bad son when your mom bought a new one.
    The longest I've kept prescription drugs after a valid medical treatment is 3 years and 2 months (just looked at my prescription date). I'm thinking of asking for a refill.

    Yes, I'd go.

    I'm a free agent as of September 10th – and just found out that our parent company gets us serious discounts on service and phones – so the iPhone might be too tempting to pass up. Unless you have incredible things to say about something else with a fantastic browser – I've seen the blackberry's and I wasn't too impressed. Palm Pre? Sprint?

    I've not used the Pre, but RIM did just buy some company that is supposed to overhaul and upgrade their browsers significantly. Definitely not soon enough for your deadline.

    Ok, so I went to Sprint's site, checked out the pricing, and suddenly a chat screen popped up and “Jessica” told me she was a specialist and wanted to know if I had any questions. I closed it and immediately closed the tab. Creepy.

    So I wonder if I should get an agent to field all of the offers and keep the press at bay while I make my decision. Are you planning to get one? You might fetch more on the market.

    T-Mobile, of course, already knows I'm disgruntled, no matter how many google-phone sales pitches it makes.

    I have a new iPhone feature you should consider. Since my last software update, my voice mail is now delayed. Sometimes it's two hours, sometimes it's two days. It's awesome. Been to ATT&T twice and Apple store once. (Fun fact, when you're at the counter at the Glendale Apple store, if you turn around, you see the M-A-C store across the way. The sell make-up or something.)
