(This is Gilbert Arenas’s new Obama-inspired hand tattoo.

Considering up-down, left-right is how we here in the USA read…if you start with up-down, like I did…four times, before I figured it out…is this a problem?)

Watching a Coach Mike Cavs team this year is a completely new experience.

Terrific on offense, with shaky defense.

I assume the defense will come around, and nobody can deny they’re turning it up and nailing teams in the fourth quarter.

For the first time since Coach Mike came aboard, the Cavaliers are actually fun to watch. Not just not painful, but actually on the other side of the scale.

Like, they play good-looking basketball. And you know I’m into it if I’m adding Cavs/NBA blogs back into my RSS reader.

7-2 so far, but I’m ready to see them play a legit power – The Utah game tomorrow night should be interesting.

The Lasers won lasterday, as well, but the news for them is back home in DET, where now not only is the auto industry looking for charity, but the entire city is asking for a $10B bailout from the federal government.

You know how I feel about this bail-out stuff, and this is just a whole new level of stupid. It’s not even stupid – it’s just weird.

The T-Mobile G1 is now available…I’m gonna do everything I can to just hold out for another year and become a free agent.

I’ll shop myself around, and likely will land on either the Blackberry Storm/Verizon, or the inevitable iPhone/AT&T.

Hopefully they open these sets up to other carriers in the next year, and create a real competition to see which is the most popular.

The Cavs of the recent past would have been down 61-43 by halftime and LeBron would have scored 21 of those 43. The difference so far this year is they actually run an offense. The number of “LeBron dribbles out the shot clock outside the arc and takes a bad 3″ possessions are acceptably low. Other players are getting them into the offense and Brown is actually taking smart time-outs. When they gel defensively and add the ability to convert stops into points … well, I’ll be really excited.

Break down the percentages of what’s contributing to the ALL-NEW CAVS for me:

    1) Addition of Mo Williams
    2) Continuity of system/players
    3) Natural maturation/experience of LeBron
    4) Natural maturation/experience of Coach Mike

Agreed, with the obvious caveat that I’ll be convinced when they do this consistently. Brown’s development has been especially welcome/unexpected. He’s done a nice job of managing the minutes for Wallace and Z, he’s convinced the players to buy in and he’s done a solid job with the rotations.

I would cut myself if a tattoo artist messed me up like that. It should obviously be going top-down.
