The details on the free Who Shot Mamba? iPhone app are below – thanks again to Renegade Apps for putting this together, and also to @_dannyb_ for really being the impetus – he is justly credited inside the app itself. Click anywhere on ther to get it – it’ll open your iTunes thing.
Do me a favor – download, rate, review if you get it OR if you don’t get it. If you half-way get it, I guess don’t worry about it.
I’ll get back to writing like regular stuff one day soon – I have updated thoughts on Twitter, which is actually somewhat of a 180 from how I’ve been…!
I also miss writing completely irreverent stuff unrelated to this WSM? movie thing. I get back from NYC on the 2-something and hopefully I have some more time to make this blog have more blog on it.
I will get to the important issue of the Who Shot Mamba? iPhone app being available tomorrow. (Click here to go get it in the iTunes Store – it’s 100% FREE.)
In the meantime, old friend Bjorn of Half Broke Hotel shared an article with me about one of my most anticipated films of this year, The Expendables.
It features some of the biggest names of the genre – including Arnold Schwarzenegger, 62, Bruce Willis, 54, Dolph Lundgren, 52, Mickey Rourke, 57, Jet Li, 46, and Jason Statham, 37.
It also stars Brittany Murphy, who died in December of a heart attack.
Of course her death isn’t funny, but the article is all about how horrific the stunts were, the “tough legends” that have banded together, and how Stallone fractured his neck during the shoot.
If you read it all the way through, the placement of that sentence and the context makes it seem like she died of a heart attack during the shoot because she couldn’t handle how intense the shoot was.
I was gonna make a big deal about like doing a big redesign on the site for 2010, but realized I like the thing how it is. All I did was move the links for my books up a notch and add a page about the Radby book.
Brad says he’s been getting all this email asking “wtf” about whether he’s a real person or a fake person or a cartoon person, so I felt a need to clarify things.
The big news for 2010 is that I’ve found myself kinda into the NBA again. The Cavaliers are quietly playing quite well after a bumpy start, and there just seems to be lots of interesting things going on.
I get intrigued by things like Tracy McGrady having his sadness again and Gilbert Arenas being unable to shake the Curse of the Mamba.
In any case…some IM action, in lieu of actual content.
Brian: Why are you awake
Girl: Lol…sorry.
Brian: : /
Girl: : /
Brian: Have you ever had the cereal Blue Crunchos
Girl: I have noto. Is it tasty
Brian: Yeah and even crunchier than it sounds
Girl: Oh wow
Brian: Yeah
Girl: Cool well I’m glad we talked about that brian
Brian: Me too
Girl: Bye
Brian: Can I put this on my blog it is making me laugh
Also I’ve eaten two full boxes of Cold-Eeze in the past 48 hours.
Hey I will not be posting anything this week other than this – everything I’m doing this week is like super private and personal, and writing about any of it will make me have conflicts with how shy I am.
Here’s a little vid we threw together of Shadii doing the voice of Inflatable Ben in Who Shot Mamba? – this type of content is only available on the Facebook Page, so like go there or whatever.
If you’re going to be in the Atlantic Ocean for New Year’s Eve, please call my Google Voicemail number, and we can meet up and have a Spring Break Christmas.
Oh wow – that’s a great title for something. This is why I continue to blog – things like that just come out. Happy Holidays!
This has been in the works for a bit and I’m excited to finally be able to talk about it.
Who Shot Mamba? is one of only four web properties that are going to be included in Brand in Entertainment’s brand auction next month at Christie’s in NYC.
Basically, this is an opportunity for the Mamba franchise to get shoved down the throats of major brands for further development, exposure, and continuation.
It’s also an opportunity for me to wear a suit.
In no way was this a simple thing to have happen. All credit and thanks goes to the walking think-tank that is Gennefer Snowfield of Space Truffles Entertainment.
I don’t know why she likes space desserts so much, but I do know we see a lot of things in this web (and brand) based entertainment space exactly the same.
For 2010, BiE currently has 33 films and 25 television projects scheduled and is working on such films as “Henry’s Crime” starring [President] Keanu Reeves and James Caan, “Unamerican” starring Jessica Biel and John Leguizamo, and has just finished work on “Meeting Spencer” with Jeffrey Tambor.
In any case, there will be lots more news about this as January 20th gets closer, and there’s something else fairly amazing happening the week I’ll be in NYC, which I can’t talk about just yet.
So if you love WSM?, make your comments happen over on YouTube, and keep the love coming on the WSM? Facebook Page, which raced past 3000 fans the other day.
Seriously, it means a ton to see such great feedback and everyone who worked on this appreciates every bit of it.
Chapter 6 lands January 5th – here’s a quick :54 preview of what’s ahead in Chapter 7. Wait, that makes no sense to do it like that.
Calvin Stadiums is continually pitching himself as their new spokesperson.
I often get asked how or what to write a blog about, whether it be overall or for a particular post.
My advice is usually something like, “I dunno – just like write whatever comes into your head and then put it on the blog.”
For example:
I don’t remember what it’s called but like he is in one prison and she is in a different one and like they try to fall out of love because of their long-distance prison romance but they keep sending each other letters about how they’s going to go get ice cream together one day but like the wardens find out and it turns out the warden has bone cancer so he needs to do a spine fluid thing on both of them or something. There’s a prison doctor who tells him how to do it but I don’t remember how it ends.

See?
That’s a post.
Would you see this movie if it starred Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in 1991.
Anyway, most of this week has been spent brooding and being happy about how sad and happy I am. Also, lots of self-important writing.
Over at AOL Fanhouse, I wrote up my problems with LeBron James, and did a podcast with Brett Pollakoff, wherein I talked about LeBron’s Dancing Crisis, Bill Simmons’ basketball book, and of course some Who Shot Mamba? plugging.
At Yahoo!’s Ball Don’t Lie, there’s a small essay about the logistics and fun of shooting at Bill Walton’s house. Couple cool behind-the-scenes pics – I think in that one I’m trying to explain what an Orange Roundie is.
LOL!
What.
At CT Kingston’s blog – otherwise known as @CTK1, I did maybe my favorite Photoshop work I’ve ever done for part of her mega-super-2009-roundup-post.
Thanks also to @DennyMayo, @mfeige, @cjrider, and @thegnc for joining me in that Matt Bullard-based Houston Rockets chat, helping to bring Calvin Stadiums, Petey Skippen, Sherpa, Peter Ovaire, Brad Radby, Russell Slanteer, Monstero, and others to vivid life.
Keep in mind we are twins, but I’ma go ahead and say it – do you want to date my sister?
So I’m bouncing around dialog with @dustinpearlman and @DJCoe for the Who Shot Mamba? iPhone app, and thanks to Google Voice’s expert voicemail transcription skills, this was some input Dustin left for me.
Alright, so the only this is what I have the wigs your stupid have a little chat. Maybe around everything’s gonna be fine. That’s just stupid have a little chat making around, I’m gonna be fine and I have for then playing tennis.
Slow Dance and 30, and nobody answers on Ben’s. I have a moment hi instead. I don’t have surrounding now, but the I left my Downing fry wanted to do laundry for talent. I think that’s better. I have I’d like to. Hey inflatable to send this from Becky, Thank you for for Mary.
The, but who shot him we shout. Momma you’re not a real there and taste like gross and from Mom, but what to do the fiscal year and not to say what’s his name in the movie. I think that was and then clients. I’m also said that and the phone old which I had done a little bit of last night for a while. Anyway word later.
It may have some problems still, I dunno.
Dustin may just be crazy – I haven’t listened to the actual voicemail.
Thanks to everyone on the hardcore support for WSM? so far.
Anyway, I’m getting asked a lot, so this is pretty much everything I’ve learned about marketing a primarily web-distributed show since Who Shot Mamba? started running.
Calvin Stadiums has had this exact conversation verbatim over 7,000 times in the past 2 weeks.
So like take this strategy and apply it to your show, but like use a different President so it’s not copying.
The Who Shot Mamba? Soundboard Begins application will finally allow you to spout things like, “Caaareful…caaaaaaaaaaarefullll….” and “Ben’s ready to hug and kiss you, baby…!” all day long.
How do you think Calvin could improve upon his marketing techniques? Those of you who have seen the whole movie, what lines would you like to see included in the app – go say what that would be on the Facebook Page.
Those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, just start here with Chapter 1.
It’s probably the most unique use of an Inflatable Ben Wallace you’ll ever see, and also my songwriting debut. First hint of Bill Walton, as well.
In the meantime, I had this conversation in my ongoing quest to get new cellular devices…I swear my contract keeps extending itself.
When I asked in March, it was up this month. When I asked in September, it was up in March 2010. I asked last week…and this is what they told me. Every word of this is real.
