Part of the book-getting challenge is that you have to pick what kind of color is your favorite one to look at and all of them are blue because it’s my game for me to own.

I was having a thing last night where my sleep wouldn’t happen to me because of how much I was thinking about how deep I can be sometimes.

What that means is about how I think so hard about things, and emotions, and pretentious, and etc.

The part of my thinking that finally made me not be awake anymore was when I made an excitement list about all the different facts I have, and those are animal facts like you didn’t know. lol

I was having a type at my qwerty keyboard after Allef’s Android Vignette App photoshoot that he was having and my typing was for an email to tell Allef thanks for coming to the photoshoot.

He is a famous guy who likes to get thank you notes in his inbox maybe is where I was coming from.

Yesterday I was listening to some Huey Lewis and the News again like my brother is always saying to with his “hey go listen to this right now or I’ll lock you out of the house again” voice that he liked to use when we were being kids.

One of the songs is the happy-go-lucky one about how love can be so powerful and a skateboarding cool guy.

It’s one of the ones that happened in a movie and that movie was Back to Some Future.

Since I was a smaller version of me I always thought it went like this:

To a little white girl,

Even when I was that little fella I was thinking “oh man I hope Huey’s grandpa doesn’t own slaves” because that seemed weird in a way that was bad.

Well, just like with my special cucumber/pickle connection, I only did a realization moment here in my adult experience that it’s like this:

To a little white dove,

Still that’s not making all my senses click but at least it rhymes in the song now and doesn’t need the Constitution to step in.

Don’t be a grouch.

I haven’t been able to practice my cardiovascular fitness and weightlifting this week because of how the doctor did cutting on me last Friday.

You know how that one gets my sadness to kick in in a way that is big, but then some cheer came and tried to help me, and you are maybe the one who did that?

It’s Wednesday and I’m getting a couple emails about the blog that are like, “What’s up with your website blog?? It used to be better and now you’re barely typing English.”

The Sound and the Fury was revered American literature and nobody complained about that, and here’s some of that book.

I seed de beginnin, en now I sees de endin. If I’d just had a mother so I could say Mother Mother. Caddy smells like trees.

I can’t believe I read that whole American Classic once.

Anyway, Mom wrote one email chat like that too, which is how I know the blog is off the rails, but in a way that is good.

The truth is that the blog is different and here’s how it was last July.

Can’t even read that one is where I’m coming from.

I bet this is great for my consulting business. lol

Let me finish on this book I’m writing at ’cause I’m in a zone with it that has cross-platform grammar carry-over with the blog, i.e. be patient for a little.

I was talking this weekend with a book reader, and the book they had read was mine.

This was my first book – the one where I admit I’m deceptively muscular.

They were like, “what does that mean” to me in their live broadband video note, and I was wearing a baggy sweatshirt so I showed them this picture.

“Is that even the same guy,” is what their face meant to say, and then they wanted to know some famous people who maybe had this condition, also.

Joel McHale took his shirt off on Community and now he has a DM trophy. Ben Affleck could be DM if he wanted to.

Ryan Reynolds was DM until he just started having his shirt off all the time, which made it undeceptive.

That’s the big-time temptation of being DM. There’s an urge to let everyone know, like how I put in that hazy picture above or how the Force goes bad guy for some people in Star Trek.

Also me and Joel (and Christian Bale sometimes) work really hard to get like this so if you’re naturally muscular or (especially) blatantly muscular, you’re boring.

Okay let’s get real for you about the book. The story is a cool one and maybe you can find the Christmas meme Brian put in it so you can learn about yourself and how deep you can be.

That’s how we grow and save the poor people from those mosquitos the internet nerds are always complaining about. How come they can’t fix that one again?

Brad Radby is the two-time Academie Award winning director of Brad Radby’s The Exploders, among many other theatrical motion pictures. He is a survivor of the Super Airplane ride, and resides in Los Angeles with his wife Melinda.

So here is something my sister said at me in email.

I’m usually craving popcorn and steak at all times.

My instincts tell me just to leave that be and go away.

The truth is I’m thinking of running this long race in Las Vegas this October and they call that a marathon if you need to know.

This quote was from Kristen Spaeth training protocols. She’s been running these marathons for years now on her legs.

Running long distances is something I hate by nature because of my ADD and also my sprinting and jumping muscles.

I dunked this weekend – it was a basketball and that’s a way for you to know how much explosive power I carry in my legs still.

If the marathon falls through the high jumping contest is in Vegas that weekend and also some restaurants. Check Yelp or Google Maps and you can find them.

This is a little sneak preview of my proposed re-do on my shoulder tattoo.

I got it – it was done – it didn’t hurt that bad. The guy who did it thought I was nuts.

This preview you’re looking at was not done in Photoshop, but in some Android app that makes your picture into either olde-tymey or Warhol or whatever you want to do.

It’s not perfect, but you can do interesting things with your phone on the go? LOL!

So you may remember something happened to the Cavs that made them have a 2010 loss for their Playoffs.

I’ve written like six posts on this and never published any of them – the torment and angst were just a little too negative for the website blog. (It’s broadband now – click the link.)

Luckily, I owed a favor to Cleveland Frowns dot com – if you’ve been wondering what my CLE-based (LeBron) basketball thoughts were made of, it’s all right here, in classic YAYsports! NBA style.

Also, I’ve finally zeroed in on one book to write – I’ve started like three this year, but none got past a third of the way done. (I did consider putting out all three thirds as some kind of gimmick book about thirds of books.)

One of them decided it wanted to get done, though. Here’s an excerpt piece that’s part of it.

I was over at Kickstarter Dot Com helping support my friend Mike’s project, and thought, “Man, I should have something on here and people can give me money to do it.”

After like 20 seconds, I came up with a good idea, and it’s called The Christmas Bridge.

Don’t get confused by my filmmaking skills – this isn’t a movie project, it’s an actual physical construct.

It’s a real bridge I want to build – a unique bridge, even.

It is imagined and conceived as follows:

1) It’s a bridge that stretches from Cleveland to Columbus, Ohio – this is scientifically proven to be the most boring 200 miles to drive on Earth, and it needs an injection of bridge.

2) It’s always Christmas Day on the Christmas Bridge, and it’s always snowing on it, even in the Summer. Pipes help this happen.

3) This is the Fantasy Island of bridges – if you go on it and make a wish, it’ll come true in a way that teaches you a lesson about learning.

4) Nic Cage is always on the Christmas Bridge, and he’s sledding back and forth, and nobody can figure out how he makes his sled keep going, and he never needs to sleep.

5) Metal is what it’s made of and there are never any tolls except for stocking stuffers, and the stocking stuffers are iPod Nanos.

6) When people get to the other side of the Bridge, they get their Nanos back, but it’s not their own Nano, it’s somebody else’s, but it only has viral videos on it. This is to make everyone want to come back for more of the Bridge experience.

I only need $91,000,000 to build the Christmas Bridge and keep it running for the first month.

The equations I made say it’ll make enough in that initial 30 days to sustain itself.

It’s really important that the Christmas Bridge stay free, because of the Christmas part of the bridge, which is the whole bridge.

This was submitted to Kickstarter this morning, so we’ll see if they approve it.

(This is the type of post I throw together in 5 minutes that makes me register christmasbridge.com, ends up as a whole book concept, and ultimately results in self-hate.)

(This is a tiny piece of something I’m messing around with in my spare time.

It’s a civil rights movement piece, and if you’ve read my Brad Radby book, you can probably dial in and figure out what it’s about.)

It was Christmas Eve 1968, and Korea was going crazy with war.

There was war everywhere, and people were really upset about how it was happening all over the roofs of their houses.

Especially the Koreans.

They were the most upset because of their houses being the ones the war was happening on top of. That wasn’t all, because sometimes after some war happened on top of the house, the top of the house wasn’t there anymore, and then the war would start happening inside the house.

When this happened, the Koreans were like, “Oh, this is the worst thing ever and we’re also out of pretzels,” except they said it in Korean.

A wild and sexy surprise wrapped up in guns and fire, that’s what this war was.

That’s because it was The Korean War, and unlike all the other wars, this one wasn’t supposed to be hell.

These 149 words were all that Andre Washington could think to himself as he looked across the battlefield that was once downtown Korea City.

(The plural-word-mistake that caused a small pain in your head was on purpose. It’s gonna be okay.)

Hey so I don’t read anymore because of my paranoia I didn’t tell you about, but I wanted to expose you to two books – one I have actual light involvement with, and the other I am el friends with the author.

First on tap is Rob Gokee’s In the Belly of the Fail Whale: How Twitter Changed My Life in One Year. (Here’s a link to buy at it on Amazon.)

While the title might be a bit long, it also saves me from having to tell you what the book is actually about.

Rob was also cool enough to ask me to write the foreword – you may remember he was the one who actually pushed/shoved me to get on Twitter.

An excerpt from what what I put inside:

“Sigh,” I said to myself out loud, admiring my new haircut.

Anyway, if you’re into Twitter or into Rob or into books or into whatever, maybe go pick this up. I’ve read it – it’s worth taking a look, and also has my name on the cover, as noted above.

The other book is by Dr. Natasha Valdez, who was an Associate Producer on WSM? with her life-pal (nay, husband) Charles Solomon, Jr.

I’ve known both for years and have spent time enough to know that her new book A Little Bit Kinky: A Couples’ Guide to Rediscovering the Thrill of Sex (Amazon link) will likely do exactly what it says it’s supposed to.

Now, I don’t do that sex stuff anymore because of my paranoia about catching bronchitis, but when I read this I was like, “Wow, maybe bronchitis will be worth it, cause like this rediscovery does sound pretty thrilling.”

For example, there’s one chapter that I can’t talk about here on my PG/PG-13 blog website, and that’s a chapter that will help me for sure if I ever want to get bronchitis.

In conclusion and furthermore, while I can’t say either of the titles of these books are quite as descriptive and exact as my own Prelude to a Super Airplane – which tells you exactly what it’s about – I can tell you that these are both worth reading, should you have the urge to do reading at something.

To preface this, you need to know that I locked my keys in my car about a week ago, and the AAA guy that came to get them out was FURIOUS at my ineptness, especially when it turned out the keys weren’t even in the car.

So I was on Blackberry Messenger with the same person I was on with when it happened last time.

Imagine my raw, savage shock when I read back this IM chat transcript that I was involved with. I’m the one labelled “Brian” – that’s like my IM alias or something.

Brian: It is a book that I am writing

Brian: I have three words left – just gotta think them up

I was doing a reformat on the Kindle version of Prelude to a Super Airplane over the weekend, and totally forgot there’s an amalgamated Twilight + Harry Potter series of novels that are part of the 19th subplot.

Anyway, Chapter 30 of PTSA was actually an excerpt from one of the books.

I thought this an apt time to post it here – if you’ve never read the Twilight books, sadly this is exactly what they’re written like. Everything after this sentence is lifted directly from my book.

CHAPTER 143 – THE END OF ACT 1

I wasn’t sure. I didn’t know if I should or not. The television was sitting there in front of me, and I’d been looking at it for several hours, debating whether to turn it on or not. My father, Lugustus, had bought the television many years ago – it was old now, but when he bought it, it was new.

Lugustus liked to buy things, because he was a detective. I call him Lugustus because that’s his name, and I like to use names. When I was living in Unicorn Valley County, everyone called each other names. Their real names. That was before I moved here, where I had to watch Lugustus buy things. The day Lugustus bought the television, it was raining, which is when water falls from the sky. Some people call it precipitation, but I call it rain, because it takes less time to say, and because I’m an outsider. That means I’m not like everyone else, and it’s only worse here, because I moved here from somewhere else. Sometimes that means I don’t fit in with the people in this place, which is a different place from the place I came from before. I wish I were tan, and that my tail weren’t so sleepy.

The rain on the day the television was purchased was a heavy rain, which means that in terms of water, there was more of it coming down than if it were lighter. The heaviness of the rain made me a little sad, because I don’t have as many friends as I did in the other place I lived. The rain here was heavy.

“Hey, let’s go buy a new TV,” Lugustus said to me. “It’s raining, and the old TV doesn’t work good in the rain.”

The old TV was a seven-inch hand-held from Casio. We had it propped up in the corner on an old cereal bowl. The bowl had a chip in it. I’d put the chip in that bowl when I moved here – I’d been trying to eat some cereal, and because I was so new and had no friends, I dropped the bowl. This is where the chip came from.

The chip was one-quarter inch by one-eighth inch. I knew the exact measurement because I’d used a ruler to measure the chip. The chip I made because I had no friends. I never did eat that cereal that day – instead, I took the bowl, and used it to prop up the old Casio handheld TV. This way Lugustus, who’s my dad who I call by his first name, wouldn’t have to hold the TV in his hands anymore. I couldn’t believe how big the chip in this bowl was, and when I measured it, I knew everything would be different. Thank god I had that ruler. Ugh…life.

The ruler was blue. It wasn’t a light blue, and it certainly wasn’t a dark blue. This meant the blue fell somewhere in the middle, although it wasn’t quite royal blue. Maybe it was plain blue. Plain. There’s a word to describe my life in this new place. P-L-A-I-N. Plain. What a word. Five letters, and not one of them the same. I had no friends here – I couldn’t believe it.

I took the plain blue ruler and picked up the bowl. The bowl with the chip. The chip that reminded me my heart was empty. The actual chip itself was little. I kicked it under the refrigerator, which was pale yellow in color, and had two doors. One for things we wanted to just make cold, and one for things we wanted to freeze. That part of the pale yellow refrigerator was called the freezer. It made sense to me. Nothing else did. I was so confused in this new place. This new place that was so new to me, because I’d never lived here before.

Lugustus was a professional detective. He would hate the chip in the bowl, and would feel like he had to do his detective work on it. This is why I had to hide it under the pale yellow refrigerator. The kick I used to kick the chip was just soft enough to get the chip underneath. If I kicked it too hard, it might hit the wall and bounce back out. If I kicked it too soft, it wouldn’t make it under at all, which would mean I’d have to kick it again. I didn’t want to do this, because I was so tired from not having any friends, because I’m an outsider in this new place. Everyone looked at me weird. Like I was weird. Lugustus wouldn’t understand. He was just my dad, and not my mom, and I called him by his first name. He couldn’t figure this out, because he didn’t understand me. Some detective.

Once I had hid the chip, I took the bowl and looked at it. I noticed for the first time that it was white. A pale white. All white was pale, but maybe this was paler. Paler than white. I laughed to myself. Maybe I was going crazy from not having friends to go places with. It’s not like I’d know where to go anyway – I wasn’t even from here. I was from somewhere else. Someplace that wasn’t here. I looked at the bowl for another minute, and started walking to the living room. I tripped – just a little. Not a lot. Not enough to fall down. My heart ached again. I couldn’t tell Lugustus about Handsomar Horsebuck coming back into my life. Not now, and not ever. That means never. Not even later than now. My dad could never know about Handsomar’s return. He was just my dad, and he wouldn’t understand. Nobody understands me, because I’m not from here. Except Handsomar. We still love our staring contests so much.

I tripped over a chair. The wooden chair. The same one I’d eaten dinner in last night. I’d gotten home late from school, because I’d been out with Handsomar, who when he first came back, I thought had become a vampire man-horse. He wasn’t. He was still a regular man-horse. Something else had changed about him though, and it would change my life forever, but I need to explain the chair. The chair. The wooden chair – that’s what was important right now. It was a wooden chair, made of wood. When I sat in it last night, never in a million years did I think I would trip over it that morning. But I did, because I was lonely, because I had no friends. This place was so strange.

I’d made chicken for Lugustus and I for dinner. The dinner where I sat in the chair I had tripped over, after I’d hidden the chip in the bowl, which I’d used to prop up the Casio, which one morning Lugustus and I were going to replace with a new TV, which I was sitting in front of now, wondering if I should turn it on. The chicken was good. I’d bought fresh fowl at the grocery store that afternoon, which is the time between morning and evening. The time of day I’m most aware of my lack of friends. No friends. Wow. How did I get here?

The grocery store Lugustus had told me to go to was big. This was because it was one of two stores in town. It had been remodeled recently, because the other store was selling more food than them. I guess they thought they should make a bigger store to hold more food. Maybe if I had a bigger heart, I could have more friends. I was so alone. The other store was big. I’d only been there once, because I didn’t know how to get there, because I wasn’t from here. I was from somewhere else. Yeah, somewhere not here.

The outside of the other store was a dull beige, with bricks lining the top and bottom rims of the roof and ground. In front was a sidewalk, which was made of cement. Cement was heavy. Like my heart, which was alone from not having friends.

At the start of the movie, Brad is finishing the new cover for his book, which he did because he has his exciting ADD and wanted to make people confused.

The inside of the book was still the same, and like that was so the paparazzi would not go crazy?

Brad used inDesign.

So like then Brad looked at the 14,000 different formats he would need to re-create to make the eBook version of his excitement book widely available, and like that made him do his vomiting, and he cursed society again.

But Brad saw that now the Kindle software was available for PCs, and so that was a good thing that he liked to have happen, even though Kindle formatting robs him of all the exciting fonts that he likes so much, and that it was a somewhat archaic device the day it was released.

Brad right then like at that moment made a decision that until the Apple Tablet arrived and fixed society, he was only going to keep it simple and have his book only available in three ways: Paperback, PDF, and Kindle.

He also decided this would include any related books that he appeared in as a character, like Prelude to a Super Airplane.

(Brad also knew that he thought it was funny how the publisher was like, “Hey, do you know that you state this Brian Spaeth person is the author, but the cover misspells his name, and doesn’t even list him as the actual author?”

Brad was just like “LOL!! Hit that publish button BRO.”)

@iamboney and @trilby_dare called out my blatant and unapologetic use of a question mark on Twitter the other day.

Her response especially made me laugh, and that’s a thing that I like to do.

Let’s clear this up – I swing both ways now.

Sometimes I use question marks, and other times I don’t.

My reasoning is erratic at best, but it has to do with my next book, where I’m experimenting in question mark methodologies like no author in recent history.

When I’ve got it sorted out, I’ll let you know.

If I buy a doggie and give it to another doggie, and then buy the second doggie and it to the first one, then free them both, who owns who?

There were no receipts in this scenario.

So here is some information:

1) My Mac is down for the count, which means I have a hot date with the Apple Store this afternoon. If they can’t immediately fix it, I’ll be like, “Oh man! C’mon, try again.”

2) This non-Mac-having is severely crippling, and pretty much couldn’t come at a worse time, considering the WSM? site is supposed to open tomorrow, and the first teaser is out next Tuesday.

3) I like to talk about my computer problems in a public forum, so that other people will have sympathy, and then like they will tell all their friends about how strong I am in the face of the ultimate adversity.

3a) I bought a houseboat over the weekend, and now I live on it with my hot new wife, who I just met. She was the one selling the houseboat, and I was like, “Hey, do you come with the houseboat – ” and then she was like, “Yes,” and then I was like, “Man, that seems like a weird deal – do all of the houseboats at this water vehicle store come with hot girls to marry – ” and she was like, “Yes.”

4)If you look in the sidebar there, you’ll notice I’ve written a new (free) book, and also provided a backdoor into the the WSM? site.

5) If this first technology crisis wasn’t bad enough, I was in the local T-Mobile Action Center over the weekend, and found out I’m not actually a free agent until JUNE. (I thought it was November.)

What’s the worst adversity you’ve ever faced, and on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being “toughest”) how tough were you in the face of the adversity from the first part of the sentence.

Also, do you think if they renamed them T-Mobile Action Centers, that more people would switch to T-Mobile, and why or why not.

I was thinking about having a good cry the other day, and then because my actoring is a bit rusty, decided to wait, and not do that thing.

Instead, I made this list of actual pieces of commercial media and entertainment that have made me produce tears, be they sadness tears or happiness tears.

BOOKS:
Catcher in the Rye (Like when he catches the rye finally. I think it’s a metaphor -)
Of Mice and Men (When Lenny does his dying.)

MOVIES:
Armageddon (When BW’s friend who has the kid runs up to the kid when they get back to Earf.)
The Grapes of Wrath (The end.)
Wall-E – A couple times.
The Incredibles – When Dash finally lets loose in the jungle.
Team America – I literally was crying with laughing the first time “AMERICA – F–K YEAH!” played.
The Iron Giant – Twice.
Big Fish – the end.
Field of Dream – duh.

TV SHOWS:
Lost (End of last season – I was just overwhelmed in general at the end.)

MUSIC:
N/A

SPORTS:
Cavs (Too many to list – last time was when they finally got to the Finals – Game 6 vs Pistons in 07.)
Browns (First game back in Cleveland in 1999.)
Indians (When they got to the 95 World Series.)

BLOGS:
Both Teams Played Hard (Just now.)

I’m sure there are more – but this is all I can think of right now. I’m sure some music must have made me cry, but I dunno. What commercial fare has made you shed tears the most, and why do you think it did that.
