I sometimes worry about this issue, because like I’ll see a new technology, and immediately envision how it’s going to be supplanted by something else.

Once this happens, it’s rendered useless in my mind. Like the Kindle is clearly the 1st-generation cell phone of ebook readers. It doesn’t even have internet access or anything, except to talk to Amazon.

Another one I’ve already devalued is Blu-Ray, cause like any media being stored on a physical disc just seems like it’ll be irrelevant within a couple years. At the same time, I’m fully aware I’m missing out a bit on something I’d like.

And like why can’t I get nanobots inside me now – I don’t want to wait.

Do people still use bikes.

What.

Best buy

What technology have you given up on for being pre-out-of-date in your mind.

i agree on the Kindle. it reminds me of a PDA. i had a Palm. two, actually. and both times i bought them, i realized how useless they were after a couple months. i even had books to read on them. but i like real books made of paper.

i think i also feel this way about FriendFeed. i don't like it for some reason. maybe because it's not the future yet.

i also think cats are soooo 15 minutes ago.

I had no idea you were an Italian artist/writer of manifestos. I admire you just a bit more now.

its just that those people who camped out for the first one must feel stupid now

HAHAHA! You would think! My friend was one of those people and has gotten every model since then and harbors no ill will. He also got the PS3 when it cost 600! So what does that tell you? Some people just don't care and want what they want regardless of the price. I paid 200 for mine and I don't know how I lived with a SideKick before it >_<

One thing I'm too futurist for my own good is watching shows on TV. Who the hell wants to watch all those commercials? You can watch anything and everything now online and in HD. My 50″ plasma in the living room is my monitor and then I just have a wireless keyboard and mouse as my remotes. It's like having every channel in the world in HD at any time you feel like watching it for the price of a high speed connection. I just don't see the point to cable or satellite anymore other than sports packages.

To watch football on the weekend I got a $60 power HD antennae and I couldn't be happier :D Plus with ESPN 360 I get a ton of sports online… anyway. Thats what I'm too futurist for… Sorry for the rant.

You're on the right track though – look at Comcast buying NBC and such, ie their own content provider.

The traditional networks and distribution channels are going to change drastically in the next 5 years.
