(WSM? Chapter 4 is on hold until next week – if you didn’t notice, Facebook was all jacked up yesterday.

It prevented uploading, and since like the US takes the rest of the week off from the internet cause of Thanksgiving, it seems kinda silly to do it now.

I’m lacking in my own instant messaging transcripts to re-post, I thought I’d put up this one between @alexiskn and @iamboney, who gets credit for me posting on the Twilight Facebook Page.

DANNY: that’s how I met Brian, he was supposed to meet Gilbert Arenas for the movie so he was here in DC
DANNY: but that fell through, so he met his #1 fan

ALEXIS: youre his #1 fan and you don’t know who petey skippen is?

DANNY: nope
DANNY: never thought about it, honestly

ALEXIS: umm
ALEXIS: wait
ALEXIS: you mean you don’t know who petey is, or you don’t know who his character is supposed to be?

DANNY: just tell me who it is so I can agree that I know

What’s a bit frightening is those are the most obvious jokes in the whole movie.

Calvin isn’t as obvious as Petey, at least not until Chapters 8 and 9. Actually, Petey isn’t obvious yet either, but both these two have seen the movie multiple times.

What else is going right over viewers’ heads? I lose touch on that front cause like the jokes all started in my brain – like it only took me a week to figure out that Petey was a Scottie Pippen avatar.

Those of you who have seen the whole thing – how quickly did you catch on to Petey and Calvin?

I figured out Petey but did so in PTSA – it was pretty clear to me. I didn't figure out that Calvin is Gil until I read PTWSM?

I still don't know why the Stormtroopers were in Twilight :/

I figured out Petey in PTSA as well, also because when Pippen played is right around when I stopped watching sports in general. If I had known who Gilbert is I would have figured that out too.
I've probably mentioned this, but I don't pay attention to sports at all, even reading PTWSM? half the things went over my head, but WSM? is still hilarious.

I always thought that Calvin Stadiums was Kobe Bryant taken to the point of insanity/comedy with some Ron Artest thrown in. But then you said it was Gilbert Arenas and that made sense too. I always thought Merri was Scalbrine.

I recently read 'PTWSM,' but the “Waiting for Gilbert” & “Waiting for Greg” statements seemed like jokes I wasn't meant to get. Since 'PTSA' — which should really bed 'PtaSA,' and then I could call it PUHTAZZUH!!! all excited like — I'd assumed Calvin & Peety were Jordan & Pippen. Nothing of what I've seen through Act 3 has disabused me of this notion.

Finally: while “Stadiums” now makes a lot more as a surname, I have no idea how you get from Calvin to Gilbert.

Took me forever to get Arenas. Just didn't click, maybe because I don't think of him as a great player since, well, he's always hurt and hasn't won anything. Like others, I was on the Kobe track. Pippen was very obvious though.
